Welcome to psychofrunning.com. This is the internet home of Joshua Coon  and my various professional and educational passions.

Coaching is my life’s passion and work. Seeing change and walking along others as they grow through physical movement is always a joy. The non-stop puzzle of assisting others in their quest for meaning, joy, and passion through running is what keeps me going…

I am currently the Head Cross Country and Track coach at Fort Lewis College in beautiful Durango, Colorado.

I’ve coached multiple all-Conference athletes and NCAA National Qualifiers, two athletes to Team USA squads, and multiple successful marathon and mountain running finishes.

I’m currently working on a PHD in Exercise Science (emphasis on Social Psychology of Sport). My research involves qualitative inquiry into elite athlete motivation, cross-cultural coaching, existential meaning in athletes, and passion for sport.

I’m the lucky husband of Kaila and proud father of two sons.
